Jackson & Coker, the Nation’s First Physician Recruitment Company, Awarded Certification from the Joint Commission

Jackson & Coker, the Nation’s first physician recruitment company, achieved the Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care staffing services from The Joint Commission.

Atlanta GA, (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -– Jackson & Coker, the Nation’s first physician recruitment company, achieved the Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care staffing services from The Joint Commission

News ImageJackson & Coker, an Atlanta based physician staffing company, underwent and passed an on-site review of its compliance with national standards addressing how staffing firms determine the qualifications and competency of their staff, how they place their staff, and how they monitor staff’s performance.

“Health care organizations that contract with Jackson & Coker can look to this certification as an assurance that Jackson & Coker demonstrates a commitment to providing and continuously improving quality services,” says Michele Sacco, M.S., executive director, Health Care Staffing Services Certification, Joint Commission.

The ongoing shortages of physicians, CRNAs and other health care professionals have forced health care organizations to increasingly fill positions with locum tenens (temporary medical professionals) through contractual arrangements with staffing firms. The Joint Commission’s certification program, launched in October 2004, offers an independent, comprehensive evaluation of a staffing firm's abilities to provide competent staffing services.

“JCAHO is just one step that Jackson & Coker is taking to assure our clients and physicians that we stand behind what we say we do. Jackson & Coker has been placing physicians in locum tenens and permanent physician jobs for over 30 years to clients nationally. Quality in all that we do is what sets us apart from our competition, and we are excited to have received the Gold Seal of Approval™ that is recognized by hospitals nationwide. This certification recognizes Jackson & Coker dedication to providing physicians and CRNAs that are qualified to provide safe, high-quality care to patients,” says Sandra Garrett, President of Jackson & Coker, “We’re proud to receive the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.”

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission seeks to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States, including more than 8,000 hospitals and home care organizations, and more than 6,800 other health care organizations that provide long term care, assisted living, behavioral health care, laboratory and ambulatory care services.

The Joint Commission also accredits health plans, integrated delivery networks, and other managed care entities. In addition, the Joint Commission provides certification of disease-specific care programs, primary stroke centers, and health care staffing services. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Smile South Florida - Broward Cosmetic Dentist Offers Oral Cancer Screening

Smile South Florida Cosmetic Dentistry adds Vizilite Plus® oral cancer screening to its offering of services.

Miami/Boca Raton/Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- Smile South Florida Cosmetic Dentistry recently began offering Vizilite Plus® oral cancer screenings.

The practice began offering the screenings in June, in light of the fact that about 30,000 new cases of oral cancer are diagnosed each year in the United States, said Dr. Charles Nottingham, a cosmetic dentist who is the senior partner of Smile South Florida Cosmetic Dentistry. When caught at its earliest stage, oral cancer can be cured relatively easily.

"We opted to begin conducting the ViziLite Plus® exam because it will help us identify abnormal tissue that might develop into oral cancer," Nottingham said.

An annual ViziLite Plus® exam, in combination with a regular visual examination, provides a comprehensive oral screening procedure for patients at increased risk for oral cancer.

Although adults should be screened annually for oral cancer, Nottingham said, men older than age 40 who use tobacco products and drink more than one alcoholic beverage per day are at the highest risk of developing oral cancer.

"They certainly should consider the screening," he said, adding, "Anyone who uses tobacco products should be screened for oral cancer."

The ViziLite Plus® exam is painless, fast and non-invasive, according to the company's Web site, www.vizilite.com.

The ViziLite Plus® exam is performed immediately following a regular visual examination. The first step is to rinse with a cleansing solution. Then, the overhead lighting is dimmed and the dentist examines the mouth using ViziLite Plus®, a specially designed light technology. This light technology causes abnormalities that may not be seen by the naked eye to glow a bright white.

If you would like to learn more about oral cancer screening or speak to a professional to determine whether you should be screened, call Smile South Florida today at (954) 721-6950 in Broward County, (561) 347-7757 in Boca Raton visit our website.

Banner Health Selects e-Builder Enterprise 6.0 to Manage $1.5 Billion Expansion

Banner Health, one of the largest health care systems in the United States, has implemented e-Builder Enterprise 6.0 to manage its capital program. e-Builder will serve as the single integrated project information system to manage cost, schedule, and scope on its projects.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) July 31, 2007 -- e-Builder, the leading provider of collaborative project management solutions, announced today that Banner Health, one of the largest health care systems in the United States, has implemented e-Builder Enterprise 6.0 to manage its capital program. e-Builder will serve as the single integrated project information system to manage cost, schedule, and scope on its projects.

Late last year, Banner Health embarked on a $1.5 billion expansion plan encompassing renovation of existing buildings and construction of new facilities in response to growing demand in the seven states it serves. The magnitude of the expansion plan was one of the drivers behind Banner's selection of a program management system, placing greater emphasis on the need to improve existing processes. This system will help streamline communications and information management for improved project planning, execution, and delivery.

Banner evaluated several solutions, but selected e-Builder because it had a user-friendly interface that was the most intuitive and easiest to use while still providing the industry specific capabilities to manage a complex planning, design, and construction program from the owner's perspective. In addition, e-Builder's software-as-a-service model provided Banner Health with faster deployment than traditional systems, and the ability to regularly incorporate ongoing user feedback to improve the product.

Kip Edwards, Banner Health's System Vice President - Design and Construction, said "One thing I value in e-Builder is the continuous improvement we've seen in the product since adoption, and in the short time our team has been using it." For more information on e-Builder Enterprise, please visit e-Builder web site.

Jonathan N. Antevy, e-Builder co-Founder and CEO, said "the marketplace continues to validate that e-Builder Enterprise has what it takes to address the needs of large and small owners alike. And the intuitive user interface has contributed to the ease of use our clients have been raving about."
